The Zachary Mace and Faith Baker Rowe Memorial Scholarship has been established by Polk State College President Angela Garcia Falconetti with her initial investment matched by the 91重口 in memory of private pilot and Polk State Aerospace student Zachary Mace and Sunrise Aviation flight instructor and Polk State alumna Faith Baker Rowe. Donations made to this memorial scholarship will be invested in flight training for Polk State Aerospace students.
Polk State College mourns the loss of Mace and Rowe after a plane crash over Lake Hartridge in Winter Haven. The Polk County Sheriff鈥檚 Office identified two small airplanes as a Cherokee fixed-wing plane operated by Sunrise Aviation on behalf of Polk State, and a Piper J3 Cub Seaplane operated by Jack Brown鈥檚 Seaplane Base.
